What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
You play a little robot who is tasked with solving puzzles to rescue your friends and repair your ship following an attack by sinister crystalline anomalies.
What do we like most about it?
It’s almost impossible to talk about Growbot without mentioning its amazing artwork or interesting use of darkness as a natural border to the various play areas throughout the Point N Click game’s rooms.
The art style completely dominates the game, each little shelved curiosity, or twisted plant intricately detailed and subsequently -much like many adventure games, but Machinarium and Samorost especially- extremely computer background worthy.
There’s also a strange combination of wonder and horror to the little creatures that inhabit the world, in the same way that as adults we look at some of our children’s dearest toys and recoil.
Growbot is definitely one to watch out for.
When’s it due?
Growbot is currently about half done, and is expect to release at some point during 2018. When it launches it will do so for Windows PC & Mac.
