Galaxy of Pen and Paper Release Date Confirmed as Steam Page Goes Live
Behold Studios have confirmed the release date for their next title, Galaxy of Pen and Paper.
Galaxy of Pen and Paper, the next title in Behold Studios’ Pen and Paper series (after making the first Knights of Pen and Paper, before the sequel was made under Paradox Interactive) has received it’s release date a little under six months since its announcement back in January.
For those unfamiliar with the changes between Knights and Galaxy of Pen and Paper, we’ve got a solid run-down in our recent hands-on piece from our time with the game, you can find that here. The skinny, for those who didn’t follow the link, is that the game world has been split up into multiple layers, more control has been passed to the players regarding what missions they take on, the setting has been changed up to a science-fiction one, and combat has been completely overhauled with new actions and a better perk/ability system. Oh, and there’s also starcraft battles now as well.
And, well, for those unfamiliar with the series, you play a group of people who are playing a pen and paper RPG. What this means is that there’s nigh-constant fourth-wall breaking, and a lot of witticisms from the somewhat sceptical players as they butt into NPC conversations and comment on the story so far.
Aside from their Pen and Paper games, Behold are probably best known for their successfully crowdfunded Sentai Tactical game Chroma Squad which saw players controlling a group of -simply put, Power Ranger inspired- heroes as they upgrade their studio, film episodes, and generally be fantastic. We actually recently re-reviewed Chroma Squad, you can see how it holds up here.
Galaxy of Pen and Paper will release on Windows PC, Mac & Linux on the 27th of July, it will be available on Steam. The game will also launch on iOS and Android, however at this time we can’t confirm the release date.
