Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered brings the original 2002 game (And the Xtreme Legends content) into 2026 with weapon forging, enhanced visuals, tighter officer vs officer duels and 2 player co-op. Launch is set for October 1st 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.

Dynasty Warriors 3 was the turning point in a now iconic series. With a Western release on PS2 and accessible gameplay for young-uns (With the semi-historical 3 Kingdoms setting itself appealing to the older audience), the 3rd entry solidified the 1vs1000 gameplay we love. Whether you grew up on the series or have yet to discover the Musou genre, Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered is set to be the best of both older titles and newer innovations.

New features added to modernise a classic

Expanding the features in the Dynasty Warriors series hasn’t always gone down well (Not every genre needs to be open world) but for the Complete Edition Koei have focused on small, meaningful changes:

  • Weapon Crafting. Those familiar with modern Musou titles will be familiar with weapon familiarity and forging. Essentially you fuse weapons throughout the campaign and combine their traits (Things like extra attack speed, elemental damage types, extra Musou charge on hit and the like) to forge your very own character-defining bit of kit.
  • Enhanced Officer Combat. The original Dynasty Warriors games treated officers like normal enemies, but with much more health and damage. While they looked unique and you could block, there was very little you could do other than trade blocks and blows. Koei has added in perfect blocks and simple dodging to keep the Dynasty Warriors 3 spirit while also making Officer fights…well, actually fun.
  • Secret Missions and Diverging Paths. The series has had secret objectives and missions since as early as DW4, but the Complete Edition for DW3 has a seamless system to integrate brand new routes and missions into the base campaigns. For those who played Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends, the branching timeline and mission trees are the sort of thing we can expect from DW3 Complete Edition.
  • All Previous Xtreme Legends Content. The Dynasty Warriors series has “Xtreme Legends” versions of many mainline entries, which add new scenarios and characters. The Complete Edition Remaster for DW3 includes the base game content and the Xtreme Legends content in one release.
  • New Officer: Ziluan. For those of you who played Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the main character Ziluan will be playable in DW3 Complete Edition Remastered. Given the flexible nature of the character, they may be usable for all scenarios regardless of faction.
