Paradox Interactive are no strangers to the world of busy map games with their mainline titles like Crusader Kings III and Hearts of Iron IV already brimming with things to do. With HOI IV’s latest expansion, Thunder At Our Gates, you can now get to grips with some new theatres of war through it’s included three new factions worth of content and support for ship captains and generals.
Thunder At Our Gates is the new theatre expansion letting players step into the command of three new focus trees, the Australia focus tree, Siam focus tree and the Indonesia focus tree, each with unique abilities and economical options to help support, thrive and survive as you either choose to resist or submit to Imperial aggression in the pacific region.
Ship captains will be a new addition through the Thunder At Our Gates DLC, these are divisional commanders available for the naval side of Hearts of Iron IV, which can be used to command and assist naval divisions. You can also award these captains medals and upgrade them to admirals to help lead more efficiently and gain victory.
Army Headquarters will also be added through Thunder At Our Gates and will allow you to deploy generals to enhance nearby units with effects and buffs, although they can be captured in the field so they are to be used sparingly. But on the occasion that your generals are captures they can be liberated with the new raid option to add them back into the fold.
The new content is also followed with a free update which includes many games changes for all players such as the new regimental support feature, allowing players to attach support units to their divisions as well as introducing several new regimental support companies.
