E3 2017 | Klei Entertainment Announce & Release Trailer for Griftlands; Morally Corrupt Adventuring in an Alien Land
Klei Entertainment have today released details and a trailer for their next title, Griftlands.
Griftland’s world is something fantastically new. Hook-nosed humans, sentient-robots, and strange amphibian-looking aliens populate the swampy world; etching out a life in what looks like a Space Western setting.
While little it known about the RPG-adventure title, we do know that morality -or a lack thereof- is a major theme in the game, with several images we’ve seen of it showing off a small hub component which identifies how you currently sit with the law. It’s not just how you sit with them either, it’s how you interact with them; as seen in the trailer below the main character actually hands in their two companions for a tidy ransom – it’s not a case of loyalty, but instead the cost of loyalty.
Other noticible features are the side-on, turn-based combat, the fact that passive/trader characters show their level when you are interacting with them -infering mortality/vunerability- and the fact you can barter information based on skills and ability.
You can catch the announce trailer below, you can currently wishlist the game on Steam.
Griftlands is set to launch in early 2018 for Windows PC.
