What type of game is it?

2D Adventure Platformer

What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?

A wide world of oranges and greens, a pixel-jump, pixel graphics platformer with adventure-like gathering of items and abilities; all accompanied by an excellent soundtrack.

What do we like most about it?

It looks like a really well designed adventure (/metroidvania) title, and while I’m no fan of tight jumps as are shown off in the trailer I can respect them when they are used to deter fluke cheating by being essentially locked beyond abilities.

The music is extremely catchy as well, and, well, I’m a sucker for a good boss fight especially when the game doesn’t give you any traditional weapons. (Although, that said, the game is listed as containing 6 types of weapons, so maybe I need to bide my time on that matter.)

When’s it due?

Catacomb Explorers is set to launch for PC, Mac & Linux in Q4 of this year.
