Explore an open world of darkness, bringing and channelling the power of light to clear the way and unveil your history.
What do we like most about it?
While the art style in both the environments and characters is very simple, the mechanic of the world changing based on the light is really interesting, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that ties into the bosses.
The world itself is open to explore, in a fashion similar to that of FEZ, although arguably FEZ’s iconic puzzles centered around more than one mechanic; so we’ve yet to see how Child of Fire will come to stand on it’s own.
But, with a simple art style, smooth animations, and an interesting mechanic, it could certainly turn out to be one worth watching.
When’s it due?
Child of Fire is currently listed for release next year,. The game is expected to launch for Windows, Mac & Linux.
