Wonder Boy The Dragon’s Trap: April Console Release Date Confirmed
Lizardcube and DotEmu have confirmed the released date for the upcoming Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap remaster, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap.
The Xbox One, Switch & PS4 versions will release on the 18th of April, with the PC version releasing later in the year – at a, as of yet, unspecified date a few weeks later.
The game, for those unaware, predates the Metroidvania genre, although features most of the defining characteristics; albeit that powers are through not just equipment, but also form; there’s secrets hidden about, and back-tracking due to new ability unlocks.
As a point of interest, the game will feature the same password system as the game’s first outing featured, meaning that any old passwords fans have laying around will still work in the title.
There’s no news on a physical release, but I do hope that if they go for one they’ll have a reversible sleeve – one with the current edition’s design, and the other with the classic Master-System, graph-paper style.
