The Nintendo Switch presentation featured a familiar character. Mario comes back in, Super Mario Odyssey.
Just like I predicted to myself, the launch of a new console must mean we’ll see a new Mario game? It did. Super Mario Odyssey was a great moment within the presentation, and features a huge 3D open-world sandbox style with a city that’s alive, busy, and populated.
Graphically it looks great, and even Mario’s hair looks realistic. The gameplay seems to feature most of Mario’s usual tricks, but there’s also special Switch themed tricks. Mario’s hat also comes with eyes now, because it’s alive and can be used as a weapon or a makeshift platform.
Super Mario Odyssey will be coming sometime in Spring this year.
