Prison Architect Update 12: Refined Staff Needs, Staff Strikes, and Steam Cloud Save
Introversion Software have detailed upcoming changes for the next Prison Architect PC update in their most recent developer diary.
Released on the 22nd of June, the latest diary covers discussion of a mod which allows players to change the UI to match the one from the tablet, a brief discussion on the mobile version’s launch, before getting down to business.
The new beta brings in Steam Cloud Save implementation across PC, Mac & Linux. It’s also finessed the staff needs feature which was added in with a previous update; staff canteens have been added to the food distribution network, which fixes some issues, other members of the staff will also take breaks and eat as well. Staff morale has been changed into a collective variable, meaning that the group will fail together as opposed to the previous system which could see an individual having a poor time indirectly dragging things down. And, most notably, in what seems mighty obvious in retrospect, staff mood will now drop when a prison worker is killed.
Other changes include altering staff pay, altering how many people can be on break at once, and high staff morale working as a positive on the danger rating.
If players do not manage staff well, be it through suffering a lot of losses or not providing for staff, then they will demand a pay rise; fail to provide that and 80% of the staff will start to picket the prison, and it doesn’t get much worse than that.

Prison Architect is currently 75% off, down to £4.99, over on Steam.
