Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC and New Content Coming this August

0

Pokemon Pokopia, a fantastic addition to the Pokemon gaming franchise where you play as a ditto, trying to make the world better for the humans to come back to (while bringing back out Pokemon and solving little puzzles) have announced a bunch of new content coming this August, during the Nintendo Direct, including the Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC. This game has been the talk of the year, being a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, and is the reason why I currently own a Nintendo Switch 2 to begin with.

We previously reviewed Pokopia:

“Honestly, if you have even a slight bit of whimsy in your heart, this game will pull a smile out of you. The writing is funny and charming, the art style and animation is adorable, and the entire package has a very all-ages appeal to it (not in the dirty joke in a children’s film way, more in the “somebody brought my child a LEGO set, why am I enjoying building it as much as they are?”).”

Pokopia – Living the Dream with your Childhood Friends

First, Pokemon Pokopia is having an Expansion Pass DLC. This is paid content that is aimed to give players the chance to expand their town-building adventures with three content add-ons. These will be within the existing Pokemon Pokopia save data, so nothing will reset or be removed from your world. The first part of this paid DLC launches in August, where Bubbly Basin will introduce an underwater town where players can encounter Pokemon that live under the surface of the sea, alongside ocean floor-themed furniture and new outfits for your ditto.

Purchasing this paid DLC will also give players access to a second content update, scheduled for 2026 and a third which includes a new town, scheduled for 2027. Though, there isn’t any details on what else this second and third update will give.

Those who do get the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC will also get a recipe for dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper in game, which is redeemable for use in-game upon purchase. If you do purchase the DLC by Tuesday August 31st, you will also get a code for 30 rare Pokemetal ingots, sent via email address to you after purchase.

Alongside the paid DLC, Pokemon Pokopia will have a 2.0 free update, introducing the move Dive to everyone who has the game. This will allow players to explore new underwater environments for the first time.
