Our Picks from the Steam Cyberpunk Fest

0

Steam is running an official Steam Festival, this time the Steam Cyberpunk Fest which is going on now until August 10th, with tons of highlighted games, discounts, deals and more. We have covered our fair share of Cyberpunk Games over the years, so have picked out a bunch that are specifically discounted, for you to enjoy.

Killing Floor 3

“After many years of slaughtering zeds through Killing Floor 1 and 2 we’ve finally come to the third installment: Killing Floor 3. It comes complete with buckets of limbs, blood and gore as well as a variety of new customisation options and… a few new faces.”

Katana Zero

“Whilst Katana Zero could have been simply a Hotline Miami knock-off, it stands as a fantastic game in its own right. The art style, combat, story, and feeling of immediacy and power are wonderful and come together to create a great game that I would heartily recommend.”

KIBORG

“So, off I went again. My next few runs went a bit better. After buying myself some more permanent upgrades, such as health and the chance to find bigger higher level mutations in crates, I began to break through the enemies. They come in a decent variety. Gun wielding enemies, ones with shields, bigger beefier enemies, all of whom are fellow prisoners looking to put you down. It doesn’t hold back on the gore either. Morgan’s favorite thing is to turn these guys into jelly.”

Shadows of Doubt turns

Shadows of Doubt is absolutely incredible in its scope, even down to the fact that murderers happen in real-time, physical people running about trying to flee or murder, which is personally incredible with 600 actual characters walking around thinking about what they want for tea.”

Nobody Wants to Die

“Up until the final hour, it does a great job of letting scenes breathe and allowing the story beats to flow in a natural way, but this is just not the case for the ending. It feels as if Nobody Wants to Die suddenly jump cuts towards and ending very rapidly, with the storytelling lacking cohesion and flow. It puts a firm dampener on what would have otherwise been an easy recommendation, but there’s plenty of quality here to justify taking a step into its gumshoes.”

VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action

“I am not discrediting the many aspects of the game that are creative, insightful and frankly, amazingly well done and overall, VA-11 HALL-A is a fun and thought-provoking game with great visuals and even better music.”

Ghostrunner

“Getting into the groove is essential; Ghostrunner expects you to be all ninja, all the time and when you adjust to its pacing it flows like a hot knife through butter or a sharp blade through soft flesh (pick your analogy). Although available across the console and PC spectrum it looks great on every platform but at the high end, it feels and looks next-generation.”

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

“Besides Dishonoured, Mankind Divided is the one of few stealth games I’ve ever enjoyed. This is mostly down to it’s amazingly detailed levels and the amount of variety you have when it comes to taking down your opponent. Mankind Divided is once again another amazing game, slightly tarnished due to a lackluster multi-player mode specifically designed to divide you from your money.”

Cyberpunk 2077

“The artistic detail spent to render this digital playground of madness and mayhem absolutely must be commended, as all of the arts intertwine into this awe-inspiring testament to the future of what video games can accomplish. There may be some polish to take it to the final result of the game that CDPR was trying to make, but the breathtaking world is already alive and begging you to explore its temptations.”

The Ascent

“A fresh new potential franchise starts well with an amazing, well crafted environment; good mechanics and entry into a genre that isn’t overly saturated by an army of clones released year on year. Fairly balanced and fun with both friends near and far, The Ascent shows what’s possible with the Series X and clearly places Neon Giant on the map as a developer to watch closely.”

Dead As Disco

Dead As Disco is absolutely brilliant and considering it’s only in early access, it’s only going to get better. It sold over 200 thousand copies in its first week on sale, and harkens back to, strangely, the Batman Arkham games and their fluidity of combat. Grab yourself a copy – this one is going to be a genre staple, mark my words.”

Who said Disco’s Dead? Not Dead As Disco! Wait…

Cloudpunk

Cloudpunk is a game that I feel that everyone could find something to enjoy while playing. It has a slick graphic style that is a visual treat simply to play and the car, once you get the hang of it, feels like driving a cloud sailing around an electric skyline. While it might have been fun to experience the action of a highspeed chase through busy hover-highways, the choice to make this game about the engaging dialogue and the experience of flight is perfect in every way. I fell in love with the characters, I fell deeply, madly in love with the city and its gorgeous intricacies and hopefully, you’ll experience the same love I felt with Cloudpunk, as its one of the best video games I’ve had the joy of playing.”
