Final Torment: Tides of Numenera Class, Jacks, Detailed in New Trailer
Techland and InXile have released a trailer detailing the Jack, the third and final class in Torment: Tides of Numenera.
We’ve had the Glaive, we’ve had the Nano, and now we’ve got the Jack.
Torment: Tides of Numenera, running on Monty Cook Games’ Numenera system, runs on a notoriously flexible class mechanic, so flexible in fact that the game only requires the three classes of the P&P game it’s based off in order to address any player character builds required to explore the morally dubious, scientifically awe-inspiring,and deadly lands of the Ninth World.
While the Glaives fill the traditional warrior roles, and the Nanos use ancient technology as magic, the Jacks fill the role of the adaptive rogues. The name itself is a play on ‘Jack of all Trades’ in that the characters will never truly excel in the fields that the other classes can, however, the Jacks have their own ways, and, interestingly have the most diverse skill set available.
The Jack is the perfect class for a player who is used to using unconventional means to change the events in play, and also want to use their environment to their advantage. Conventional fantasy stealth and dagger might not be at play here, but as the trailer below details, there’s a lot more options than that open to the Jack,
Torment: Tides of Numenera is currently in early access on PC. It will release fully on PC platformers, as well as Xbox One and PS4, in 2017.
