E3 2017 – Life is Strange: Before the Storm Announced, First Episode Releases in August
Players will get the chance to get in the shoes of Max Caulfield’s best friend Chloe Price.
Today, during Xbox’s E3 briefing, Square-Enix and Deck Nine announced Life is Strange – Before the Storm. The game is a prequel to the original Season 1 for BAFTA winner Life is Strange in which we’ll get to play as Max’s loyal and sometimes a bit crazy sidekick Chloe Price during her days 3 years before the beginning of Life is Strange’s first episode. Some artwork on the game was made public a few weeks ago hinting at its existing but this is the first official word of it.
The episodic structure remains, even if to a lesser extent this time, as we go down to 3 episodes from the original 5 that formed LiS Season 1. Also featuring will be Rachel Amber, the character at the core of the events in Life is Strange. The game will provide background story, with the chance of a little game changer.
It is worth pointing out that the original developers of Life is Strange are Dontnod Entertainment. However, Deck Nine will take care of this prequel while Dontnod potentially works on a second season.

Episode One for Life is Strange – Before the Storm will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam on August 31.
