Aporia: Beyond The Valley Dev Guide Introduces us to a Beautiful, Puzzle Journey.

Aporia: Beyond the Valley is a stunning puzzle-exploration title which takes place in a time and place outside of our knowledge.

Developers Investigate North (Cloud Chamber) have released an extensive developer diary which sheds some light on their next game, a puzzle-exploration title set in a mysterious world called Ez’rat Qin.

As you can see in the video below, Ez’rat Qin is a beautiful looking world, and one layered with both mystery and history. Players start their journey awakening in an amber bath, before stumbling down a beaten track following bright lights and glowing crystals.

It’s not just the stunning visuals which got the game featured here today, it’s also the artwork left behind by the now absent citizens of the world; there’s a deep early-Egyptian and Mesopotamian feel to the artwork; rigid angular buildings on seas of red sand. It’s the player’s job to find out what happened to these people, and it can only be achieved by exploring what they’ve left behind, solving puzzles, and evading traps.

You can find the developer diary below,

Aporia: Beyond the Valley launches on the 19th of July for Windows PC. It’ll be available through Steam, here, and through Green Man Gaming (who are publishing), here.
