Lots of Bugs’ beautiful adventure-filled world will make a scout out of you
Lots of Bugs has you don the sash of a Pickle Scout bug on the adventure of a lifetime, challenging you to explore, fill out the Pickle Scout journal and hopefully following in the footsteps of the legendary Pickle who once saved the world.
Cutesy, chaotic and cosy were some of the words a developer used to describe it when I spoke to them, and boy were they right. It’s all of that and a fun art-style coupled with simplistic, yet enjoyable, gameplay. I spotted Lots of Bugs when it was recently showcased at BITs in London on the Golden Hinde and featured a great demo that let me get to grips with the world and take my first steps to becoming like the Legendary Pickle.

Speaking of gameplay, one of Lots of Bugs’ developers mentioned on the day that it has been built to be enjoyable solo but is definitely best when played with friends as the world is choc-filled with minigames, music making and merriment.
Those with a creative side are definitely given a chance to thrive here, with the ability to decorate your shell how you like – including painting on it with your own designs. You are also heavily encouraged to take Lots of Bugs at your own pace with heaps to explore, create and just enjoy yourself as you literally sit back and smell the flowers as you absorb the whimsy on offer.

There is not a demo for it currently available online, but you can sign up to playtest it. The team at Lots of Bugs Studios are working hard, unironically, on some bugs and fixes as well as additional content for the full release of the game which I am very much looking forward to.
Lots of Bugs does not currently have a release date but you can find more information on it over on its Steam page.
