The TOZO VIZO Z1 Pro is a pair of AR glasses that allow you to view your devices from a much closer perspective: Turning your phone into a miniature desktop, watch films, play games and enjoy your content while sat comfortably, or even laid back.
The VIZO Z1 Pro glasses are made to function with other devices, it is important to point out that they need to be connected for both power and visual display and that it uses a USB-C cable that connects at the end of one of the glass’ wings, over and behind your ear. I did think that this was odd and assumed it would have some sort of battery or wireless function but currently they need to be connected at all times.
Pair the need for connection with the slightly odd look of wearing unnaturally bulky glasses and the manual stating clearly that this is to be kept away from pretty much everything including extended sunlight and vibrations and this is ideally for someone to use from home while working or chilling out.
The DP mode that I used to test this with my Android phone was actually visually quite nice, being able to scroll through my phone as if it was a desktop and just sort through apps, images and whatever else was much more comfortable albeit slower than usual.
When testing with an iphone, however, the device did seem to have a few issues, repeating visuals on the glasses, the phone didn’t automatically adapt when connecting to turn into the desktop view or have a mouse to use on the phone either so I would pair the VIZO Z1 Pro glasses with an Android device.
The glasses themselves are nice and the resolution is very clear boasting 120hz refresh rate. Because the glasses are constantly tinted it can be a problem trying to navigate or look around so you’ll need to slip them off and on if you need to do anything outside of using the device.
The glasses also have a myriad of physical options to adapt your usage such as myopia adjustment located on the top of each lens, volume controls and selection located on the right wing of the glasses as well as nose and screen adjustment for comfort.
One of the key mentions on the website is that the glasses offer a 98% accurate active translation while using the glasses as well as offering business transcriptions to note down conversations which means that these are not only good for relaxing but working as well.
Overall the TOZO VIZO Z1 Pro glasses are a nice addition for someone that wants to enjoy watching a film or relaxing at home and using a connected device but with its lack of wireless capabilities as well as its clear warnings about using it pretty much anywhere it’s not great for everyday outdoor use and would be most suited for those who work from home.
