Pokemon GO is working on their core-memory features, trying to create a bunch of different activations all over the world. One of the ones happening in England this year, is taking place on August 1st-2nd and 8th-9th, where players can complete a live city-wide Pokemon GO challenge with a focus of Shoreditch London.
This event will have the creators Chunkz and Miniminter. I am a little disappointed, as a Pokemon Go fan, that these creators aren’t actually Pokemon Go focused creators. I do feel that one of them should be focused on Pokemon or at the very least, Nintendo ones, if they are going to be platforming them within the game. However, I digress.
Players who take part in the area will be able to watch the race finale live, take part in various Pokemon Go experiences and possibly be able to meet the creators participating in these challenges. There will be an exclusive Timed Research that will appear in-game if you play within the area.
The first stage of the Time Researched unlocks a complimentary coffee from the Pokemon GO pop-up experience, while stocks last (2,000 cups a day). There is also a secondary page, which has players using the What’s Your Favorite? feature to share their favorite Pokemon on Instagram, using the #PokemonGoSummerQuest, to enter to win a trip to Japan for 2 people – which is a truly amazing prize.
Though there seems to be more going on in London, all of the national can see Timed Research and enter for the chance to win a trip for two to Pokemon Go Fest 2027 in Europe through the Timed Research that will appear for them, so they aren’t completely left out if London is too far away (though you may need to purchase your own coffee).
This, alongside their National Trust collaborations and LEGOLAND events, seems to mean a packed summer for Pokemon fans.
