The Majority Pulse 1 Bluetooth speaker is a highly portable, easily chargeable speaker that’s lightweight, easy to carry and absolutely perfect for both BBQ’s and family get-togethers — which is exactly what I used it for.
When I first saw the Majority Pulse 1 I was expecting it to be very heavy, it looks like your stereotypical,’ place it down and never move it again’ style speaker that weighs a tonne and is a chore to handle, but genuinely it’s light as a feather, sporting a total weight of around 3.2kg it’s easy to just pop it in the middle of the garden and let the tunes play.
Not only is it highly portable but it’s easy to set up. You just charge using a USB Type-C charger, connect to the speaker using a bluetooth device (i.e. your phone or laptop) and that’s it. The speaker also comes preset with a number of light functions allowing you to not only hear your music but watch as it lights up darker environments with colourful lights that vibe with your music.
There are a number of buttons on the top of the speaker for easy use ,if you’re not currently in control of the device on your phone. Simple controls like play, pause, next song are all on the top, as well as options to turn the speaker off and change the sound/LED modes to boost the bass loud and proud.
It’s safe to say the charge on the device is great as well, I played around with it for about an hour before family was over, then it was consistently playing from early afternoon well into the evening — pretty much lasting the entire get together unplugged for around eight hours of battery life. This would likely be improved by turning the lights off and maybe not having it in bass boost mode but was still great.
The only real issue I have with it is its size, with it being quite large compared to more compact speakers this wouldn’t exactly be your everyday carry to hang out at the park, but although it is light enough, it’s definitely one to take camping or somewhere you’ll have a bit more of a permanent place to put it so you can sling it in the car and set up when you arrive.
Overall the Majority Pulse 1 speaker has outperformed pretty much all of my expectations of the device offering wide accessibility to people. With great sound and easy controls it’s quite literally fun for all the family.
