SFB Games, the creators of Tangle Tower and Crow Country, have now confirmed the release date for The Mermaid Mask, their next entry in the long-running, point and click adventure game series Detective Noir. It’ll release for PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch on July 16th.

We previously reviewed Tangle Tower:

Tangle Tower, like it’s in-game counterpart is a beautiful construction filled with mysteries. It makes you think like a detective, throws some puzzles your way and lets you enjoy figuring it all out. The colorful characters breathe life into the game, and if you in any way enjoy mysteries you might just enjoy the game too.”

Tangle Tower — Lakeful of mysteries

The Mermaid Mask is a witty, atmospheric new instalment in the beloved Detective Grimoire series. In it you’ll take on the role of the series’ titular detective who, alongside their partner Sally, will work to unravel the tangled truth about the death of a mysterious captain who has been found dead in their submarine.

It’s a bizarre case, full of twists and turns, not least due to the fact that the nearest settlement is a once-human fishing village that has been long abandoned by humans. As with all of the Detective’s cases, nothing is quite what it seems, and there’s always something a little big magical afoot.

You must investigate an impossible locked-room murder while exploring The Mortuga Submarine and meeting its eccentric crew. Of course, not all is as it seems and you’ll need to gather clues, interrogate suspects and think outside of the box in order to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding the rumoured-immortal captain’s death and the events that led up to it.

We’ve really enjoyed SFB Games’ previous games, so have high hopes for The Mermaid Mask.

The Mermaid Mask is a very interesting offering, coming to PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation on July 16th.
