Jackbox Games, Publisher and Developer of, uh, the Jackbox games, recently announced the twelfth instalment in its Party Pack series, following the recent announcement of a partnership with Netflix.
Since November 2014, Jackbox Games have been filling a very specific niche in the party game genre with their their Party Pack series. This contained now beloved games like Fibbage, Quiplash and Trivia Murder Party. Twelve years later, they’re still keeping the jokes coming with the newly announced Party Pack 12 — check out their announcement trailer below.
We’ve covered Jackbox Games’ previous iterations here on B3 a few times – including their previous release, Party Pack 11 — and I’ve played them plenty with friends, usually with copious amounts of alcohol involved, so I’m very excited to see these brand new games in action. Jackbox has been the king of the party game genre and always hit the mark when it comes to answering that age old question of who’s the funniest one out of all your mates. It’s… usually not me, but my counter-argument to that is that humour is subjective. THat or I’m just not funny.
Party Pack 12 promises five brand-new games, designed to highlight our ‘inner comedian, artist, mind reader, debater and team captain’. We’ve no information yet on what these games actually are, but there’s always a couple of highlights in the packs.
One thing I’ve always loved about Jackbox and their party games is how accessible they are to people – you don’t all need to own a copy, or fiddle with extra controllers. As long as one of you (probably the cool one) has a copy of Jackbox and you all own a smartphone you can all join in the fun from anywhere you are!
Jackbox Party Pack 12 will be launching later in the year on PC, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and iPad.
