Outright Games launches ‘Big Smiles This Spring’ discount campaign on their children’s games

Outright Games is known for creating a bunch of family friendly games with popular children’s licenses. Most of these launch across both PC and consoles, and sometimes accompany TV series and movie releases. We’ve previously had a look at a handful of them, especially as so many of us have children that we enjoy gaming with, and so it made sense to report on their current discounts.

As a part of the Easter break, Outright Games is throwing a ‘Big Smiles This Spring’ savings campaign, with up to 70% off a bunch of their most popular titles. Here are some of our favourites:

My Little Pony : A Maretime Bay Adventure

My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure is a solid, little game for kids to play with, and is certainly more polished than the sort of tie-in games you’d have expected in years gone by. It looks nice and plays well enough for children to have a good time with it. The length of the game compared to the price tag may well be a bit off-putting for some, but the extra entertainment may be just enough to keep the youngsters happy.”

Bluey The Videogame

“There’s a nice story running through Bluey The Videogame that wouldn’t be too far removed from the show. It centres around the kids being off school and trying to find a treasure their dad and his brothers buried when they were kids. This means you bump into a few series favourites like Muffin and Rad over the course of four short episodes. It’s a good setup that fits Bluey well and even has one of those lovely heartfelt moments at the end.”

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game

“There are so many things hidden around the map to find; lost socks, golden spatulas, cut scenes that feel straight out of the show. It’s just a fantastic game especially for SpongeBob SquarePants fans. We both have spent a lot of time in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game and love to see Patrick being featured.”

Giganotosaurus

Giganotosaurus is an attractive, occasionally promising kids game that I think will sporadically delight fans of the series, but which lacks the polish of even a second-tier platform game. It’s not a bad game and in many ways, I feel a lot of effort has gone into it. Parents can likely find a better platformer for their kids assuming they are not Giganotosaurus fans, whilst adults should definitely think twice before investing here.”

Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures

“Overall, we had a great time with Hotel Transylvania Scary-tale Adventure, and feel like it’s a good game for fans of the movies, or kids interested in fantasy things like vampires and werewolves! It’s an easy platformer for kids to pick up and play, and it’s nice that they’ve tied traditional stories into it. The different stories that you pick from the main menu also made it feel like multiple games to the kids — an added bonus.”

There are also a bunch of other games on sale, from Gabby’s Playhouse to NBA Bounce, so if you are looking for some new games for your children (or yourself) to explore, it’s worth having a look before April 23rd, when the sale ends.
