E3 2017 | Age of Empires Definitive Edition Announced for PC, Releasing This Year
Microsoft’s Age of Empires series is full steam ahead, with a Definitive Edition of the original title announced at E3.
Following on from the massive success of the Age of Empires II HD reissuing -which subsequently led to the game receiving DLC even though it originally launched over a decade ago- Microsoft Studios have announced that the first entry in the series will be receiving major upgrades for the new edition.
The new Definitive Edition will include 4k support, a remastered soundtrack, and several -unexplained- gameplay overhauls. It will also receive Xbox (Windows App) achievements, multiplayer support via Xbox Live, and all of the content from the exceptional Rise of Rome expansion bundled in for free.
You can find the trailer below, you may also be interested in signing up for the beta on the official website, here.
Age of Empires: The Definitive Edition will release later this year for Windows PCs.
