Yooka-Laylee Release Date Confirmed; Trailer Released
Playtonic Games, and publisher Team 17, have confirmed the release date for the physical and digital versions of their upcoming platformer Yooka-Laylee.
Yooka-Laylee, the 3D platformer first announced in mid 2015, is confirmed as releasing on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on the 11th of April in both physical and digital versions. Pre-orders for the game are said to give players access to a “Toybox Demo” as well.
The title was successfully Kickstarted in 2015 when it was pitched as a spiritual sequel to Banjo Kazooie by members of the former team; It went on to break the record for funds raised for a video game project via such means.
The developer also confirmed that the game would be skipping the Wii U version, which had been initially planned, instead moving development focus onto the Nintendo Switch version which they will detail in the coming year.
A new trailer was also released showing off the ‘Capital Cashino’ stage, you can catch that below.

This looks like a lot of fun 🙂
Does anyone else remember Banjo Kazooie and those other Rare games on the N64? I hope this is just like those were!
This looks like a lot of fun – in fact I absolutely cannot wait for it. Gonna run out and buy it I think!
I loved Yooka-Laylee on the Switch so this would be an awesome title to own on the Xbox to play with my nephew!
Weird, I’d never heard of this one until the review above.
My son would love this – hopefully it sparks in him the same sense of fun and nostalgia that I experienced playing Rare games as a kid!
