Top 7 Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Merch by Numskull

Numskull announce a range of merchandise to accompany Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled release.

Back when I was a small child I had a PlayStation. I played the Crash Bandicoot game that had been released in 1996. The orange creature looked interesting, albeit a bit scary. My memories of the first game are mainly giant fruit and a weird mask that spoke to me — that and dying a lot. I was too small to really play using a controller, but there have been quite a few entries into the series since then. Crash Bandicoot lived on and got his driver’s license, and most recently it has been announced that his kart racing foray is being remastered as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and is coming out on June 21st!

And with the release of a new Crash game, comes a new lot of really lovely, quality merchandise from Numskull. Their previous merchandise for Crash was quite extensive, including color changing mugs, crate candles, a candle that smells like Wumpa fruit and much more.

Added to this neat selection is a bunch of high-quality items that are more specific to the racing remaster and more unique to the line. Despite not playing very many Crash Bandicoot games in my teenage years and adult life, the quality and look of these different items really does bring Crash back into my mind. After watching one of the recent Numskull’s Q&A Livestreams, I’ve written this to tell you about my top seven items from the sixteen item range.

1. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Incense Burner

Number 1 is going to be the incense burner, isn’t it? I mean, when you have started making trailers for individual items, you’re  really making something that is going to shine. Numskull have been focusing on incense burners recently, with the previous one being a Spyro burner — and it used the smoke from the incense in a very interesting way. Converting a figuring into an incense burner really takes it to the next level; You can light an incense triangle and watch the smoke come out of the car’s engine. The car literally smokes. That’s pretty great, if you ask me. And even if you don’t want to burn anything, even just as a huge figurine it looks FANTASTIC.

2. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Trophy Mug

Right. Ever wanna feel like a real winner? This mug is a trophy. Yes, this is allowing you to drink out of a trophy. I don’t know about anybody else in the world, but I would totally drink out of a trophy if I was given one. Although the prototype is metal and the final product is ceramic it still looks amazing and would make me feel like a real winner, even if I sucked at racing in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.

3. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Commemorative Winners Medal

Speaking of being a winner, if the trophy is not enough for you then you can purchase your own Winners Medal. There is surely no shame in purchasing what is clearly meant to be yours. This medal seems like a really cool thing to own, especially after a game of go-karting, when you can have it presented to yourself for winning. The display case that the medal comes in is also really nice — making for a great display if you want to leave it in there.

4. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Metal Badge Mug

Maybe I have a thing for mugs or maybe Numskull just have fantastic ideas for mugs. Either way this beautiful mug with a metal badge on the front of it looks pretty spiffy! I really like the color and design — having that *pop* of medal on the front makes it stand out from all of the other ceramic mugs that I’ve seen before. Having unique mugs is always a plus when opening up the mug cabinet!

5. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Powerslide Hoodie

Here is the thing about this wonderful hoodie: It’s inspired by racing hoodies, has mesh detailing and is a really lovely shade of orange. It looked fantastic — especially on the presenter of the livestream. I my opinion it looked really great from the front, but I was not the biggest fan of the back of the jacket. Throughout the line, there is this grungy looking, tire-eating Crash Bandicoot that just isn’t appealing to me. If the back of the jacket just had the game’s logo then it would probably be at the top of my list. If you do like the grungy Crash, or can get past it, then you’ll surely love this!

6. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Furry Dice

Crash Team Racing

Full disclosure, I don’t have a car, but I do love fuzzy things. These dice are a blast from the past and completely unique to this line! Numskull have not done car dice in the past and this was inspired by the teaser image for the game — which was fuzzy dice. A classic, a beautiful showcase of older times, much like seeing Crash get a new game. I just love the concept and fluffy look of these dice. Seeing them be squished on stream, they look very high quality and I would hang them off a hook as wall art in my home.

7. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Toolbox Pin Badge Set

Crash Team Racing

All of the pin sets that Numskull create are wonderful, and this is no different. There is a great selection of pins in the box, each of them enamel, and the packaging is designed to look like a tool box! Specifically, the tattoo-inspired Wumpa fruit and the cute looking bomb are my favorite of the set of eleven. As I said before, all of them do look very nice and fit in well with CTR Nitro-Fueled.

There are many, many other products including snapbacks, t-shirts and keychains available for pre-order in the Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled line, which ships in early June. You can also check out Numskull’s other Crash Bandicoot line to see what they’ve already got available!
