Thank Goodness You’re Here! – Wacky adventure game!
Playing as a traveling salesman in a slapstick, comedy adventure, Thank Goodness You’re Here! Is a game that will likely bring a smile to your face. You’ll be playing as a little man who has arrived early in a town in Northern England, where you can talk and interact with a bunch of the locals!
And really, your only goal is to waste some time before your big meeting. The world within Thank Goodness You’re Here! Feels very well crafted and full of interesting interactions. The style of the game is that of a kid’s TV show, however, you can often do stuff that walks the line of appropriateness for everyone. As you do explore around, the locals will give you strange tasks and odd jobs that you can attempt to complete, to progress the story and open up more parts of the town.
I got the chance to play a bit of the game at Day of the Devs, where I joined after someone had stopped playing, so I am not honestly sure what quest I was meant to complete, but I did get to go to a food truck and slap someone on the bum, causing them to close their food shop. I also got to see an angry man sit in a chair watching his TV, which he did not seem happy about!
There are a lot of funny moments within the game, that have you giggling and smiling as you watch it. It’s a fun time, and one that has easy to more challenging puzzles that seem more outlandish as time goes on. I’m not really sure what our meeting will ultimately be about when it happens, but it sounds like I will have endless stories to tell about this strange town for the rest of my life.
Thank Goodness You’re Here! Is sort of a niche game due to its unique writing style and generalized gameplay. But it’s a game that a lot of people, who enjoy silly, slapstick humor, are going to really enjoy.
Currently, you can wishlist Thank Goodness You’re Here! On Steam.
