StarCraft: Remastered Arrives August 14th
Blizzard have confirmed the release date for their upcoming remaster of StarCraft, and also expanded on the version’s new features.
StarCraft: Remastered will be releasing on August the 14th, developers Blizzard Entertainment have announced.
19 years ago the first StarCraft launched, followed shortly by Brood War. The two titles completely changed the landscape of the RTS genre, refining aspects from Blizzards own Warcraft, and genre classics C&C, and KKnD, while also adding in a compelling, science-fiction story-line.
The remastered version will feature 4K visuals, enhanced audio, a refined matchmaking system, as well as leaderboard systems. Players who purchase the remastered version will also receive new content for StarCraft II, three new portraits, and Alexei Stukov as a co-op commander.
Updates and new features include:
“-Full graphical upgrade of the original StarCraft and the StarCraft: Brood War® expansion
-Widescreen UHD support for up to 4K resolution
-New matchmaking and leaderboards
-Player profiles that track individual statistics
-Cloud saving for campaign progress, hotkeys, and replays
-Higher fidelity music and sound
-Switch between Remastered and the original StarCraft with the click of a button!”
