Raccoin releases new Cabinet Update
Raccoin, an extremely polished and juicy rougelike deckbuilder where you are playing in a coin-pusher, has released a new Cabinet Update, which adds in an arcade mode, new cabinet, new skins, and a bunch of quality of life improvements.
We have previously reviewed Raccoin:
“Now I mentioned before that Raccoin is deceptively simple, and that’s because there is so much on offer behind the curtain, so to speak. At first it does look like a simple coin pushing experience with a few special coins on offer and the odd modifier but the more you play the more customisation you unlock opening up a world of possibilities for your next run. Raccoin has a lot to offer in a tightly knit package, it’s a simple idea multiplied and modified to get the most out of a familiar format.”
Raccoin’s Cabinet Update contains a lot of new content, with the first being an arcade mode within the Classic Cabinet. This mode has two arcade mini-games; whac-a-mole and Raccoon Quest. These are stick coin pusher games, where there isn’t a ton of thinking or mechanics that need to be done, and playing them unlocks the Hawaii cabinet skin.
The Lab Cabinet, added int he Cabinet Update, is a sort of sandbox mode for experimenting with strategies, testing builds and figuring out different combos before you can take them into your real gameplay. It’s a neat way to set up different playthroughs without any of the risk. You will also unlock the Lab cabinet skin by playing with it.
Raccoin has collaborated with Cluckmech Oasis to add in a Cluckmech Oasis themed cabinet skin and coin skin that is now in the game with this update. This is completely free, though for a limited time they have a bundle with Cluckmech Oasis, where you can get both games at a discount.
The Cabinet Update also has a bunch of quality of life updates like the ‘Bank’ chip no longer being exclusive to manager characters, data run screen now showing each character’s preferred coins, improved controller experience, and some bug fixes. This update also announced that Raccoin is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation and Xbox in the future.
