News | Elite Dangerous Engineers Update Released Alongside New Trailer

As of the 27th of May Frontier Development’s Elite Dangerous has officially rolled to 2.1, with free players now moved onto version 1.6. What this means, for those who haven’t been following the game closely, is that crafting of modules, special ship upgrades via specialist engineers, as well as a major re-haul to how you interact with missions, are among the long list of features added to the already expansive game.

There was also a very hefty series of patches, fixes and tweaks rolled out with the new feature, including a standardising of NPC weapons based on class, and the removal of the ability to destroy your own ship for the bounty.
