Misery has a large update with Masks, Locks and New Content
Misery, the 1-to-10 player, co-op survival game set in a nuclear disaster zone, has received a new major update that adds a whole list of new features.
We previously reviewed Misery:
“Misery is definitely an experience best enjoyed with friends. Although it is a true survival game leaving you to fend for yourself it doesn’t currently feature any true goal to work towards leaving you to literally just build, survive, explore, repeat. I do think that if it had a bit of direction added then this game could be something very special, but even in its current state it’s still an experience worth your time.”
For those unfamiliar with Misery, it challenges you to survive a dire, post-apocalyptic setting with your friends, challenging you to survive, thrive, and search through radioactive ruins for resources. In it, you can build a bunker, craft weapons, and explore a procedurally generated world with your friends.
The new update in Misery has added in a bunch of different things, including locks! Locks can be crafted and padlocks can be set up to lock doors, which is extremely good for multiplayer when it comes to keeping your stuff safe and restricting entrance to rooms in your bunker. When it comes to wearables, you can now wear a gas mask and a ushanka at the same time, as masks and hats are now treated as different items.
Items have had a bit of an overhaul, you can now view stats in the description to compare the damage and protection of your gear. When using your inventory, you can drag-and-drop swap in your inventory. There are many little fixes, ranging from hardcore mode respawn fixes being added and crawfish being made more vulnerable to melee weapons.
Beyond that there’s also things such as new locations in the city and nuclear bunker biomes, and new posters can be found throughout the maps. This comes off the back of an incredibly popular Free Weekend event, which saw more than 600k new survivors playing.
In the future Misery should be seeing a new Factory biome, as well as monsters, gear, hazards and artifacts.
