Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch) – Comedy Horror?!
Renting in this day and age is a big challenge, but in Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch), you’ve not only got rental problems, but also some supernatural ones that you need to deal with! Your landlords, to the new place you and your friends have rented, turns out to be a witch that wants to mess with you. You’ll now need to figure out a way to escape this new home you are in.
Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch) is a comical horror game that has you playing a character with tank controls, trying to navigate a small apartment where there are tons of strange happenings going on! At first, you’re just looking to sort of unpack some of your belongings and get some items to your friends room, but it becomes a challenge to even move between rooms as walls are put up in doorways and jam — well we think it’s jam? — is spread all around the kitchen, in claw marks on the floor.
As you explore your home, you will slowly reveal a story about these queer renters and their experience with landlords. Your landlord, being a witch and not knowing much about queers, wants to watch your every move and come into your house whenever she wants, as it’s her house at the end of the day, right? It’s a strange game, with lots of puzzle elements and weird moments to the story. The house seems almost empty at first, apart from the strange feeling of being watched!
I got the chance to play some of Janet DeMornay Is A Slum Landlord (and a witch) at Day of the Devs, where I struggled a lot with the movement of the character and camera angles, but really wanted to dive more into the story and see more of the world that was created inside this game.
You can currently wishlist Janet DeMornay Is A Slum Landlord (and a witch) on Steam ahead of it’s release later this year.
