Well this is an interesting turn of events today! In fact, it felt like only a few weeks ago that Toby and myself were discussing the classic titles from the PS2, Xbox Classic eras, and look what’s cropped up!
Jak and Daxter are returning, but not in a new standalone, oh no, they’re coming back, revamped. In the announcement trailer we see the introduction screen which confirms that this is a PS4 exclusive, and then we see various locations being switched around in the background while Jak and Daxter act out the same animation several times.
The graphics look like it’s only been reskinned to look nicer on HD displays and suit the PS4 hardware improving the frame rate, but there isn’t the level of remastering that Crash Bandicoot has undergone.
Personally, I want this. I used to love the titles, and I seem to have forgotten to mention…this isn’t just on Jak and Daxter title, this is all four classics.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, Jak 3, Jak X: Combat Racing.
That’s four titles coming sometime this year to the PS Store. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough if this will be four individual titles, or a bundle.
