We Happy Few Clockwork Update Trailer Highlights Major Tweaks
We Happy Few’s latest update delivers a few quality of life tweaks, as well as overhauls to visuals and NPC interaction, as it’s latest trailer details.
Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few is a bit of a strange beast; so different from the product people convinced themselves they were getting when they saw the E3 trailer earlier in the year, yet also better in many ways, and surprisingly good once you had gotten past the teething issues of the early game.
The ‘Clockwork Update’ then, with it’s new tutorial area, is a welcome addition; not only filling in a gaping plot-hole, but also introducing players to the various bars, conditions, and mechanics that will dominate your progress through the game’s world.
In addition to the tutorial, there’s also been some heavy work done on the visuals of Hamlyn, as well as tweaks to quest givers and the questing system of the game. Civilians will no longer be bludgeoned to death -by player or AI- while giving a quest, nor will environmental damage interfere with them, and you’ll also have a lot more trouble breaking animations by talking to people while they are doing something.
There’s a mass of details in the patch notes on the developer blog; but, they give a pretty good gist of it all in the trailer, below.
We Happy Few is currently available on Steam Early Access, GOG.com Games in Development, and Xbox Game Preview.
