Rewilding game, Grow Wild has a limited-time demo coming soon

Grow Wild is a stunning, nature-inspired game about rewilding a field, then exploring and enjoying the ecosystem that you build up – from shrubs and bugs to beyond. Previously, the only way you could have given it a go was through physical events (Develop: Brighton being the one where we got hands on with it) however it’s now confirmed that it has a public demo coming soon

“Mechanically, it’s combination driven. Once you’ve got X of Y in place, Z will appear, you’ve got a checklist to work through and, well, that’s it. You’ll explore around your plot of land, zooming in with your magnifying glass to identify bugs, birds and minibeasts, adding them to your nature book, while also gathering and distributing wildlife. You’ll want to gather seeds, build log piles and carefully place plants to maximise pollen, gemination and the like — or maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll just want a little spot filled with flowers, bees and little else.”

Grow Wild is a cozy, nature game about restoring an ecosystem

We were very impressed with the Grow Wild, based on what we played — the build felt quite polished and both fun fun and relaxing to dive into.

From April 17th to April 24th, you will be able to play a new demo as a part of the Earth Appreciation Festival on Steam.

This Steam Festival feels perfectly suited for this type of game; Where you’re making a difference to an environment, interacting with a friend, and checking out the creatures that have decided to come in to your little plot.

In this version of the game, you can play through five different biomes, discovering a bunch of real-life, documented flora and fauna for these pieces of land. It’s very interesting to see the way the world moves within Grow Wild, which is 100x time faster than real-world time, showing how nature persists.

The Earth Appreciation Festival is partnered with the charity Cool Earth, so will be raising funds alongside this digital event for real-life climate action and to support communities on the front line of the climate crisis.
