What type of game is it?
It’s a wacky role playing game made by the developers of -the absolutely brilliant- “The Kingdom of Loathing” a web based rpg absolutely rife with puns, humour, and content. West of Loathing is a Western themed single player experience which includes visual system in the place of the text based KoL.
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
Massive world, wall-to-wall with humour, Western setting. Stick men with funny names.
What do we like most about it?
Most clearly the humour, from the items through enemies even down to character classes. KoL’s Pastamancers, Sauceror, and more are replaced with Bean Slingers, Snake Oilers, and Cow Punchers.
Anything else worth shouting about?
These guys know a lot about content design, KoL has been live and kicking for 13 years, while the simultaneously logged in players may have dropped now it’s been actively supported by the creators for all of that time, and there’s never a shortage of things to do even if you’ve been grinding away for the last decade.
When’s it due?
It’s currently listed for Early 2017, when the time is right it will launch for PC, Mac, Linux & iOS.
