What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
You play as a knight on a journey to defeat the evil Black Knight, you journey the wastes defeating bandits and exploring distant lands, gaining experience and leveling up in anticipation for the big showdown. Oh, and it’s a sci-fi game set in space, the knight’s armour is the ship.
What do we like most about it?
It’s a classic underdog fantasy story with all the tropes in place, but then DIRECTLY transferred into a science fiction setting where ships engage in melee combat and shields, well, there’s a joke there for sure.
Anything else worth shouting about?
The art style and theme are completely bang-on. Floating farmsteads in space, planets occupied solely by giant mushrooms, all of that down to the ship design completely delivering on the medieval knight-in-armour design. The star map also seems really interesting, a very interesting way to display what is essentially a level select.
When’s it due?
The game is listed as launching on PC in late 2017. The Kickstarter (looking for £25k) also lists Xbox One & PS4 as formats.
