Title: What the Box?
Developer: Megastorm Games
What type of game is it?
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
In a warehouse of boxes, several of them are not as they seem. In fact, you are one of these boxes, seeking out other players (also boxes) as they hide and attempt to out-sneak, and ultimately detect, you.
What do we like most about it?
To say that this is just Prop Hunt with boxes is harsh, because when you consider that this game actually has random level layouts, it’s own launcher, and multiple game modes – as well as the fact that EVERYONE is a box, not teams – then it’s actually vastly more.
That said, there isn’t much more to say on the game, as with the aforementioned title there’s a great potential for tense moments, and funny moments, but that all depends on the likelihood of finding someone to play with and the integrity of the servers. For now though, this is something Steam needs, a refined update to an existing product, with tight visuals and a raft of content.
When’s it due?
What the Box is set to launch in the Winter of this year for Windows PC, and Mac.
