Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Battle System Will Lean Towards Action
The game will opt for an action-focused battle system, rather than a command-focused one.
Information on Final Fantasy VII Remake has been quite scarce for quite some time – for the better, most likely. However, in a recent interview at Dengeki PlayStation, game director Tetsuya Nomura stated that the game will not make use of commands at the root of its battle system, but will instead focus primarily on action. [Siliconera reports]
What this means is that, while there’ll probably be commands in the game, such as magic, abilities and whatnot, the base of the battle system will have action at its core. We can thus expect fast-paced, flashy combat.
In the screenshot above we can get a taste of both flashiness and fast pace. We all got this straight from Nomura at MAGIC 2017 about a month ago. The shot gives us a glimpse of the game’s first boss battle against a foe we all recognise. According to Nomura though, it has new tricks up its tail so we can’t lower our guard. Also from Nomura, we got word that the voice recording for the main scenario is close to finished.
There are no scheduled appearances for Final Fantasy VII Remake in the near future. The game is currently in development for PlayStation 4 with no release date or window.
