With a strikingly different visual style, Beyond Good & Evil 2 has appeared out of the blue to close Ubisoft’s E3 showcase with a bang.
For long-running gamers, the end to Ubisoft’s press conference today was history being made. It has been MANY years since Beyond Good & Evil came out on PlayStation 2. I has also been many years since we saw a conceptual teaser for Beyond Good & Evil 2. Today, the game came out of its long-running silence.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 will take place at a time before the first game, presumably before Jade (BG&E1 protagonst) is born. The re-reveal trailer features brand new characters and it’s entirely cinematic, with no tracks of gameplay. The name of Pey’J did drop in the trailer, but despite it being the name of Jade’s sidekick, there was no sight of him, but of a similar-looking character.
For the time being, we do not know much about the game itself, but game director Michel Ancel fought through tears to tell us that the community would get the chance to take part in creating BG&E2. You can enjoy the trailer below.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is coming, but no release window or target platforms have been discussed yet.
