Cult of the Lamb, Massive Monster’s 2022 title that very much captured the hearts and souls of players all over the world, is having it’s own tabletop adaptation, which will be crowdfunding on Kickstarter.
I am a massive fan of Cult of the Lamb, enjoying running my own cult, finding different members out in the woods, and fighting off hordes of enemies all while trying to make sure I had all for the resources I needed to keep my cult going. It’s going to be interesting to see all of these different things working their way into a tabletop adaptation.
Cult of the Lamb: The Board Game is going to be a one to four player tabletop game with gameplay spread out over four rounds, each round being split into two different phases. It starts with the Crusade Phase, where you need to guide your prophet along branching dungeon paths, fighting enemies using quick dice-assignment combat system to take them down. You will be able to collect loot, go shopping, and decide how much risk you want to take for your cult. You can also use Curses and Tarot cards to change the battle in your favor during this phase.
The secondary phase is the Cult Phase, where you can recruit and manage your Followers by sending them to board locations to claim actions that will allow you to create new buildings, gather resources, manage faith, keep the flock fed, and enact new doctrines that will effect how you are playing.
At the end of the fourth round, you must decide if you are ready to face The One Who Waits in a final showdown or just score up Victory Points to see who had the best cult overall. The final boss fight is different depending on which Bishop of the Old Faith you end up going against, making this game feel very similar to the video game!
