Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection from Limited Run Games opens Pre-Orders Soon
Rugrats, the show, was an icon in the 90s, with many different games released that featured the characters from the TV show. Tommy Pickles and the rest of the gang are now set to make their way into consoles, through the Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection.
Previously, the only Rugrats game I have ever played is Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland, which isn’t included in this collection. Instead, there will be six Rugrats titles: Rugrats: Search for Reptar, which is a jigsaw puzzle mystery released in 1998, The Rugrats Movie a game about finding Dil Pickles, Rugrats: Time Travelers, which is a platformer taking place in a toy store, Rugrats: Studio Tour – which is an action-adventure game that has the gang exploring a film set, Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, which is a Paris theme park adventure, and Rugrats: Castle Capers, which has you stealing your toys back from Angelica.
All of these games have been previously released for PlayStation, GameBoy and the like, but have – for this release – been updated with quality-of-life updates to make the games both playable and smoother on newer consoles. They also have an auto save feature, a rewind feature that offers players a second chance, and a music player so you can tinker around with the music even when not playing.
Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection is being released as a physical game on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, featuring extra box art and a printed booklet, but there is also a deluxe edition, which has an PlayStation 1 inspired game case, stickers, the soundtrack and a Reptar keychain as well as the items in the basic physical game.
Currently Rugrats: Retro Rewind pre-orders are going live on May 1st, 2026 and will be available for digital purchase on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 from May 15th. Do keep an eye out for a full review of these retro remakes.
