Piranha Games have announced their new title; the latest entry in the MechWarrior franchise, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries.
During the keynote presentation at Mech Con 2016, a single day event that took place in Vancouver, it was announced that Piranha Games (Mechwarrior Online) have begun work on a new entry into the MechWarrior series – MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries.
The new game will see you dragged into the Third Succession War as a rookie pilot with the chance to take contracts of your choosing from various factions. The game will follow your mercenary campaign which will apparently restructure around your choices in game.
Unlike Piranha’s other title, the F2P multiplayer-centric MechWarrior Online, Mercenaries has been shown to be solely PvE.

Currently there’s been no discussion of launch platforms, however the game is expected to release in 2018.
