Tycoon/ Planning Management game.
What’s the 30 second elevator pitch?
Run a shopping mall/retail park taking charge of recruiting, development, finances and zoning. I don’t really need to say much more do I? Anyone who worked retail and has played a tycoon game must already be interested by now.
What do we like most about it?
While I’m unsure of how needs and wants of the customers filter into the game -as after all that and missions received are the driving force of the game- however it’s clear that the game has been designed to function from the tiniest outlet to the grand designs we see shown off in the trailer.
Importantly, it looks good while it does it. The little, big-headed people are easy enough to tell apart, and the fact the game can handle nearly one hundred of them on screen in close zoom also bodes well for more complicated later-game structures.
Those points, ultimately, are my only concerns about the game – will certain trends appear driving people to want to buy more food (bomb warnings), or bulk buy (Black Friday), or just spend more time outside their house (recession)? Also, will the employee workload function at peculiar sizes, can a single cashier, shelf-filler and cleaner run a store that just gets by? Anyway, those aside, it certainly looks ready to go from the footage shown, and as a fan of tycoon style game and a decade-long victim of retail woes I’m definitely interested in the game.
Another Brick in the Mall is set to release later this year for Windows PC.
