Sow chaos as a bird in Geoland: Seagull Adventure
I have played a number of games that have the energy of ‘chaotic birds trying to destroy the world’. Geoland: Seagull Adventure is one such game, however here you play as a seagull that has been captured, so you must escape and then explore the world, taking on quests and solving little puzzles.
Despite being a game full of puzzles, Geoland: Seagull Adventure is more adventure focused, taking place in an open world. You’re able to jump around from quest to quest in freeform as you explore. Its quests are often destructive (or at least, the ones I discovered) but sometimes they are instead helpful, such as asking you to plant seeds or recover and return items for people. Other times, they are stealing items from humans, scaring them, and popping their balloons. It’s a wild ride.
Often finishing Geoland: Seagull Adventure’s quests will increase your stamina. This allows you to fly further, for longer, while holding larger items. Some items fully ruin your stamina within a small amount of time due to how heavy they are, effectively gating these tougher missions behind progression. I did enjoy trying to figure out how to solve different quests and discovering where I could potentially active another quest by interacting with something on the map. There are a lot of people, items, and interactions on the island – along with secrets to discover.
You can also unlock various items to customize your seagull, so that you look however you want to look. Geoland: Seagull Adventure does feel like a funny, silly game that works well for all ages. I am sure that my youngest is going to dive right in, especially if the game comes out on console, so that she can poop on people and steal their underwear at the beach! As you do build up stamina and complete quests, the world continues to open up, which makes it feel less overwhelming and more challenging to lose items that you’ve seen previously. It’s clever design!
You can currently wishlist Geoland: Seagull Adventure on PC.
