Elite Dangerous Finally Gets PS4 Release Window Confirmation
David Braben, of Frontier Developments, took to the Playstation Blog to confirm that the massively successful Elite; Dangerous will be making its way to the PS4 in Q2 2017
Elite: Dangerous, which originally launched on the PC back in 2015, and then onto the Xbox Preview Programme back in 2016, has been confirmed as launching onto the PS4 in the middle of next year.
David Braben, the founder and CEO of Frontier Developments, took to the Playstation Blog to confirm the news earlier today. While there he gave a little bit of history on the series and it’s roots back in 1984, and then went on to confirm that the Horizons expansion season will be included in the game when it launches.
The Horizons update is the current season of content, and brings the ability to leave your ship through fighters or planet surface vehicles; the Engineers content also falls under this bracket, the mini expansion allowing players to seek out very rare upgrades for their ships. Finally, Horizons also includes larger ships as well as the ability to crew one-another’s ships.
Add all this to the Powerplay content, which allows small station factions to swell up to massive warring factions, and there’s an obscene amount of content.
Elite: Dangerous will launch for PS4 in Q2 2017.
