If you are looking for a new desk speaker and want something that combines a classic design with powerful audio, then you don’t need to look much further than the Edifier M60. These compact 2.0 desktop speakers are designed to plug into your PC, sit on your desk, and provide some lovely audio.
The speakers themselves are boxy in appearance, connecting via Bluetooth, USB-C or through an analog cable, depending on how you want to use them. Connecting through Bluetooth is as easy as tapping the power button to the mode where it lights up blue and connecting via your device. All of the cable options are included. There is a display on the top of the right speaker, which allows you to turn it on, change the mode, and manage the volume.
The two speakers are also connected through a cable, which means that they are limited in how far apart you can place them or where they are at. They take up a significant amount of space on a desk, which can be a negative, so make sure you really like the design! If you are playing loud music or listening to bass-y sounds, they do seem to shake or rumble more than I am comfortable with, but the sound quality is very nice. They also came with two metal stands, with rubber buffers, that allow the speakers to be angled backwards on your desk. This is a fantastic way to enjoy the sound quality without having the music blasted directly towards you.
When it comes to the techy terms, the Edifier M60 has very good audio performance in smaller rooms or on desks, with 66 watts of RMS power. The sound has been very clear while I use it, but you can also control the speaker through the Edifier ConneX App on your mobile device. There are a few presets; Music, Monitor, Game and Movie, to give you good sound setups for what you want to use it for. You can also use the 6-band equalizer to customize your device to your liking. You can also use the app to switch sound sources, which is ideal if you are using the Edifier M60 on a shelf or in a room instead of specific for your PC.
The Edifier M60 has high quality sound, as expected with Edifier, and it feels like everything was thought of. If you are looking for a new pair of desk speakers, you won’t find much better, especially in this price range.
