E3 2017 | The Last Night -4K Trailer- A Neon, Cyberpunk, Post-Workforce Adventure

Carve out a place for yourself in a world which has left you behind in The Last Night

More than a few titles received decent exposure out on Microsoft’s E3 stand this year, with the 40+ game selection that was on show putting the average presentation to shame. Among that plethora of playthings there were a few games that really stood out as fresh, unique takes on style over realism. The Last Night’s misty, rain-swept futuristic streets were most definitely one of the most memorable moments on show.

Details regarding how the game plays out are scarce, with the protagonist’s journey propelled along by a combination of stealth and action; it actually looks like a modern take on Another World, albeit with those aforementioned stealth mechanics in parts.

On this, the game’s Steam page says the following:

“•Contextual stealth & gunplay
Each encounter in The Last Night is handcrafted to ensure variety and narrative progression. Use your acquired knowledge of the city to hide from drones, skirt around police, and escape dangerous situations – or people.

Real-time action dialogues
Draw your gun to intimidate or simply walk away while in the middle of dialogue. NPCs will stroll and chat alongside you rather than just stand around. They’ll even remember what you’ve said, night after night. Make sure to watch your mouth as much as your back.”

The game’s world consists of four distinct districts -all playing out in the cool 2D/3D visual style we see in the trailer- which can be navigated to in a variety of appropriate means – notably a shot shows the main character straddling a hover-car, about to leap off.

You can catch the trailer below.

The Last Night will be launching on Xbox One, PC, Mac & Linux at some point in 2018.
