Aurvana Ace Mimi – Customisable Sound Experience At A Cost

0
If you’re looking for a sleek looking slim fitting pair of earbuds then you’ll look no further than the Aurvana Ace Mimi. They offer plenty of features and personalisation options, and with that you’ll definitely be able to tailor to your own preferences and have them ready to use in a moment’s notice.

Notably, the Aurvana Ace Mini features  active noise cancelling, 28 hours of battery life and a generous ipx5 rating. The latter means you can comfortably use it in most conditions wind, hail or rain — but do remember that they are only protected against water on the device, not it being submerged.

The buds come in a sleek Midnight Blue colour scheme and a very slim, lightweight case that can be easily accessed, paired to and even wirelessly charged. This means they are as simple to pick up and use as they are to put back down to charge.

With its companion app, the “Creative App”,  letting you customise a number of features ranging from performance to audio settings it’s easy to install and after setting up an account you are in full control of your buds.

I found that when using the ANC option there was a sort of low hum in the background when I wasn’t using them for music or any sound playing —this  was annoying at times but as soon as something starts playing it completely goes away. This could be from something in the personalised settings but I couldn’t seem to get rid of it during the time of testing.

The case is, as previously mentioned, incredibly slim and lightweight but at the cost of durability with a very small hinge on the case made of what feels like relatively cheap plastic. I do worry about the longevity of the case if I drop it. The buds, when inside the case, also seem to have that “downward charging from the tips of the wings” set-up which I’m personally not a fan of and, at times, when putting the buds away it took me a second or two to notice which one went in which side.

If you’re looking for a more premium option you should take a look at the Neobuds Planar which offer a lot of similar features but boast much more customisation as well as a much cleaner sound overall but at a much higher cost.

The Aurvana Ace Mimi earbuds are one of the more expensive pair that I’ve come across, despite this they seem to offer a bit less than some of the more budget friendly alternatives. The counterpoint is that they do have a nice mix of features normally found in the most premium models. This does mean that they’re hovering in a sort of mid tier limbo that isn’t necessarily the best but still competes well in its price bracket.

If you’re interested in picking up a pair for yourself, you can find them on the Creative website.
