In a world where there are tons of messages online about games maybe not being child safe, but equally, a lot of people looking for a safe space for their children to game safley, it’s really important that people keep making games like Sesame Street: Friends and Fun.
Sesame Street is such an iconic, childhood favorite, and it is incredibly established as a brand that’s known for teaching children and otherwise helping bring up the next generation. It could be argued that it’s the perfect, safe brand for a children’s game.
Sesame Street: Friends and Fun is a open world game, full of little mini-games and puzzles that you can play around with however you want. Most of these mini-games are learning games – learning colors, shapes, how to take care of your little dog. It’s an adorable, low-pressure game that doesn’t have any sort of lives or timers.
It’s great for those who are younger and want to play video games, but need a safe world for them to explore. It’s not just a loose branding grab either – if you do have little fans of Sesame Street, you will see all of the iconic characters from Elmo to Oscar the Grouch.
There is so much fun to be had driving around on your tricycle, playing in a sandbox, and taking photos on your camera while playing. You can even have your own apartment that you decorate, create yourself in the Sesame Street style, cook up some cookies, and play memory within if you’d like.
Obviously, I am not the target audience for Sesame Street: Friends and Fun, which I got the chance to play at Gamescom, however I can really see the need for this type of game and the fun that younger children would have here. I love that it’s not heavily text reliant – there are voice acting and stories all throughout it. It’s such a fantastic little game with so much gameplay to it.
I still fondly remember some of the educational and child-friendly games that I played as a child, and I’m confident that this will leave exactly the same kind of happy memories with the children that do play this.
You can find Sesame Street: Friends and Fun out soon on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
