Urban Strife, the turn-based tactical RPG from MicroProse and White Pond Games will finally be hitting it’s 1.0 release on July the 14th after a year and a half of community driven updates and progress.
Urban Strife has come a long way since 2024 with a focus on new episodes, gameplay systems, tactical systems and community feedback to drive the initiative into the full release. Coming with the 1.0 release will have an ending to the campaign with the long-awaited final act deciding what happens to the shelter and it’s residents.

With a setting in an apocalyptic section of the American South, Urban Strife lets you explore, gather and evolve your survivors into an effective survivor group to help battle the dead as well as other threats. Not every problem can be solved with the swing of a bat, as players will need to create alliances, build and improve their survivors.
We played it back in January of last year, and remarked that it was “absolutely worth taking a look at if you’re into the likes of State of Decay and Mutant Year Zero..t”
The most recent addition, The Fall of The King, allowed players to explore the kingdom of the Urban High School and it’s mysterious ruler, Principal King Brown. This update already came with a host of quality of life updates alongside the new content and with the 1.0 release Urban Strife is going to be chock-full with survivor content.
With such a focus on improvement of the overall systems both focused on gameplay and customising your shelter and it’s denizens, Urban Strife is shaping up to be one of the most in depth and mechanically interesting games of 2026.
